Beyoncé cannot insulate herself from every crazy and idle rumor. When she encounters a story about herself on the Internet, she reads only the story. She stops there. She doesn’t let herself scroll down into the comments sections, which have a tendency to become cruel, ad hominem free-for-alls.

“Don’t scroll down!” Beyoncé advises, laughing. “You’re definitely going to get your feelings hurt.”

EFCC re-arraigns Femi Fani-Kayode over alleged money laundering

                                  
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday re-arraigned a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, over alleged money laundering.

Fani-Kayode appeared before Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of a Federal High Court in Lagos, on a 47-count charge. He, however, pleaded not guilty.

His counsel, Chief Ladi Williams, prayed the court to allow him to continue with the bail granted him by Justice Ramat Mohammed, who earlier handled the case.

Abuja woman accused of killing her husband discharged & acquitted

              
An Abuja High Court on Friday 8th February discharged and acquitted Hadiza Afegbua Abudu (pictured above right), of all charges of killing her husband, Ibrahim Abutu, (pictured left with their child).

Hadiza was accused of killing her husband in December 2011. According to the family of late Ibrahim Abudu, Hadiza allegedly used a double barrel gun in shooting her husband in cold blood, supposedly over his plans to marry a second wife. 

Hadiza was found not guilty and is a free woman now!

Actress Nse Ikpe Etim to wed February 14th

                                  
The actress who got engaged around Christmas 2012 will be getting married this week, February 14th..or maybe Feb 13th. One of those days sha :-).

Nse is marrying a man she dated when she much younger. They broke up many years back but re-connected recently. He is UK based so she will be relocating to the UK after the wedding, though sources close to the actress tell me she will continue acting. Just like Uche Jombo R, she will be in Nigeria when she needs to be.

The wedding is this Wednesday or Thursday so my peeps will be there both days to see if we can get photos.

Pope Benedict XVI will resign on February 28, 2013, a Vatican spokesman said today Monday February 11th. The 85-year-old German-born Pope said he was resigning because he no longer has the strength to fulfill the duties of his office. If the Pope resigns February 28th, he will be the first pontiff since 1415 to step down.

The earliest indoctrination many of us have to this mind-set happens at home. Throughout my childhood, “househelps” – usually teenagers from poor families – came to live with my family, sometimes up to three or four of them at a time. In exchange for scrubbing, laundering, cooking, baby-sitting and everything else that brawn could accomplish, either they were sent to school, or their parents were sent regular cash.

Attackers behead South Korean doctor, kill two others in Yobe state

                                         
Two days after nine health workers were killed in Kano, three doctors were this morning killed in Yobe State.

The Yobe state police commissioner Sanusi Rufai told the AFP news agency that armed men entered the doctors' flat in the town of Potiskum either late last night or early this morning and slit their throats.

They say a South Korean doctor was beheaded while two others - either South Koreans or Chinese had their throats slit.

The doctors worked at the General Hospital in Potiskum and they routinely travelled through the town without security guards. How sad!

Nike Oshinowo moves to Banana Island

                                
 Months after separating from her husband of six years, former beauty queen Nike Oshinowo has moved on and moved on big time. Not only does she have a richer and more powerful man in her life (name withheld...hehe) she's moved to a flat in one of Nigeria's most expensive areas, Banana Island.

Nike has told close friends that a reconciliation with her ex husband, Dr Tunde Soleye, will not happen. She has since dumped her wedding ring and is rumoured to be in a new relationship.
